Quarantine Chronicles: A Photo Log (1 of x)

debs/ March 28, 2020

It turns out we’re really good at staying at home. Like really good.

Day 3

Hung out with family to celebrate someone’s birthday.

Birthday family chat.

Day 4

In pre-quanrantine times, a friend who shall not be named invited themself over to paint and I guess we both reduced our respective barriers to engage in the activity in isolation.

Day 6

In which I get to work from home and get paid to doodle vegetables–I’ve basically made it in life.

Day 7

While we’re working from home, someone else is working out from home.

Our vegan powerlifter.

Day 9

Worked on a collaborative side project. Here’s a little preview 😀

Day 10

Rewatched Season 3 of Attack on Titan. For the second time. In 2 weeks.

Day 11

Established weekly lines of communication with some wholesome folks.

Physical intimacy and social distancing 👉👈

Day 12

Started seedlings for the garden: the only investment that’s expected to have a return these days.

We were also lucky to inherit grow lights from our neighbours.

Day 13

The grocery store was clean out of all prudent adult things: frozen veggies, milk, eggs, butter…

It was, however, well-stocked with the 4Cs: Chips, Candy, ice Cream, Cheese. We’re not complaining. (In fact, all the chips I were hoping to restock on were on sale :O!)

Day 14

As late-20-somethings, we are in the unique position to redefine what #adulting entails. However, I can’t help but wonder whether each new wave of “adulthood” is actually just a reflection of new kinds of repressed childhoods…

Day 15

Sunbathed in the only rectangle of sunlight from out only south-facing window while working on a puzzle of the world and listening to podcasts.

This puzzle is actually the best way to learn where countries are…

Day 16

Domesticated wildlife c/o Google AR.

Google AR Baby Shark dododododododo…
AR hedgehog vs. IRL bunny boo.

It’s a privilege to have such low standards of amusement, and it’s a pleasure to exercise this privilege. It’s also a privilege to have such high standards of living (physically, mentally, emotionally, spiritually, socially, etc.), and it’s a guilty pleasure to personally be thriving while so many others are struggling.
